Greek gladiatorial fight rules

The Greek civilians would hold fights in huge arenas where only men and unmarried girls were allowed to watch. The fighters were called gladiators. The fights were either up against dangerous animals or tons of animals. But the most common fights were fight to dead against other gladiators. Sometimes these fighters would be a homeless man, your father, brother, husband, cousin, anyone. They only made these fights to entertain other civilians. If a married women was caught watching the fight alongside men, they would face a horrible consequence: Death Penalty. The woman would be thrown off Mount Typaion and into the river below. The fights contained nudity, so married woman couldn’t watch the games for the men in the rings weren’t related nor married to them along with showing disrespect towards their husbands. The only exceptions were for unmarried woman and men to watch.
